Gyouk Chu
M.S. Student
Machine Learning and Intelligence Lab (MLILAB)
I am a M.S. Student at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), advised by Prof. Eunho Yang in Machine Learning and Intelligence Lab (MLILAB), with plans to pursue a Ph.D. in the near future.
Previously, I received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Science at KAIST in 2025 (Summa Cum Laude, 1st in Department of Electrical Engineering).
My current research interests focus on advancing the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLM). In particular, my recent research focuses on identifying tasks where current LLMs underperform and constructing the corresponding datasets and benchmarks. I am also dedicated to exploring effective Reinforcement Learning methods for reasoning models and enhancing the performance of Small Language Models through Knowledge Distillation. Ultimately, my research seeks to build upon the foundations of language modeling to pave the way toward Artificial SuperIntelligence (ASI) and beyond.
